While Gary Taubes hasn’t explicitly stated that he is in favour of the pale or primal diet his research support this way of eating. I’m sure Gary has heard of the paleo followers but that he’s chosen not to mention it because it is so easily ridiculed by the media.
Below you can listen to Gary Taube’s appearance on Dr. Oz’s radio show. I highly recommend Gary Taube’s books which you can find here: PaleoHub Recommended Reading.

This book is one of the best places to start your education in paleo / primal nutrition and exercise. Mark Sisson is one of the big names in paleolithic nutrition due to his very popular and informative blog. He decided to write this book in which he condenses everything he knows into 10 simple rules that can help you radically change your health and well-being.
When I first saw the tag-line “Reprogram your genes for effortless weight loss, vibrant health, and boundless energy” I admit I was a bit skeptical. But after doing research into epigenetics I now understand that how we live really influences our gene expression.
What I like about this book is that it helps you focus on the few important things that will give you 90% of the health results you are looking for. This means you don’t have to worry about counting calories or how may hours you are exercising. It’s all about following the basic guidelines without getting bogged down in particulars or the scientific background. And if you are interested in that kind of thing you’ll find extensive references and research notes on his website.
Besides information about nutrition this book also contains information advice on exercise and how to have a healthy psychology as well. This book is highly recommended to anyone who is starting to get interested in paleo / primal / stone-age / cave-man nutrition and exercise. It’s a great way to introduce people who may not be familiar with this kind of life-style.
